16 Beaches In Ontario With The Cleanest Water That Are Perfect For Swimming In This Summer

Dive into summer at these pristine Ontario beaches!

With the long weekend and summer-like temperatures on the horizon, it's time to start planning your first beach day of the season. There are dozens of stunning sandy beaches in Ontario to choose from,  but as you probably know, not all of them are swimming friendly.

We've rounded up a list of sixteen beaches across the province with a Blue Flag eco-certification, where the water quality is pristine and ready to be enjoyed.

In Toronto, these beaches have earned their Blue Flag stamp of approval:

  • Bluffer's Park Beach at the Scarborough Bluffs
  • Centre Island Beach, Hanlan's Point Beach and Ward's Island Beach at the Toronto Islands
  • Cherry Beach and Woodbine Beach in Toronto's East end

Outside the city, several other iconic beaches made the list:

  • Victoria Beach in Cobourg
  • Wasaga Beach: Areas 1, 2 and 5
  • City of Barrie Marina
  • Lasalle Park Marina in Burlington
  • Bell Park Beach and Moonlight Beach in Sudbury

If you live in the GTA, these beaches are perfect for a weekend getaway. They're a bit of a drive, but totally worth visiting for the unbelievable beachy landscapes, water activities, and swimming opportunities:

  • Grand Bend Beach at Lambton Shores
  • Outlet Beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park
  • Waubuno Beach in Parry Sound
  • Colchester Harbour Beach and Marina in the Town of Essex

But, keep in mind that these beaches may not have their Blue Flag certification all summer long. The waters are tested all the time, and their condition could change every few months.
